Coaching for Managers

Coaching is one of the most effective tools a manager can use to not only develop there staff into taking more responsibility and looking for solutions themselves, but also to free up their time to think more strategically.

When managers make the paradigm shift from believing they need to know the answers to supporting their people to find their own solutions, they become measurably more effective – and so to do their staff. Not to mention the increased job satisfaction and improved confidence for both parties.

This increased effectiveness is measurable with improved competencies in specific areas such as:

We have been running these very successful Kagami Coaching workshops for over 12 years now for top and Middle Management Teams.

In our experience it’s not enough to give Managers and Leaders a set of tools and a coaching system, without addressing their “behaviour motivators” – core attitudes and beliefs about managing people. For example, a didactic Manager who believes they know the answers will misuse coaching tools causing mistrust and frustration amongst staff.

This is why we first take participants out of their knowledge base and onto the driving range to coach each other in golf. It is a profound experience for a non-golfer to help a golfer reach their goal through coaching them, despite having no knowledge of golf. The paradigm shift from a didactic to a Socratic management style is greatly supported by such personal experiences, both on and off the driving range.

Golf experience is absolutely NOT necessary – beginners receive a short Kagami introduction to the game, after which everyone can hit the ball effortlessly and are ready for the mirroring exercises.

All KAGAMI Coaching for Managers Training Programmes are tailor-made for each client to suit their outcomes and training budget, after in-depth interviews.
